During operation, pulp flows through the feed pipe to the center of the cover plate. The rotating impeller generates centrifugal force to throw pulp outward, forming negative pressure between the impeller and cover plate. Ambient air is automatically sucked in via the air intake pipe. Under intense stirring of the impeller, pulp and air mix fully, and air is split into tiny bubbles. Extra bubbles are also separated out from pulp behind impeller blades. Mineralized bubbles rise to the froth zone and are scraped out by scraper blades to obtain froth concentrate.
